The HFTP Asia Student Chapter and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV Singapore Campus) organised an overseas educational seminar for HFTP student members in Hong Kong and Macau on 11-15 May 2008. Student members were given exclusive peeks into the operations of the hotel, casino and entertainment industries in Hong Kong and Macau. Participating properties included the Four Seasons Hong Kong, Ocean Park, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Venetian Macau, Sands Macau, Crown Macau and Wynn Macau. The educational seminar gave students a broader perspective on issues such as financial management, human resources challenges, technology advancement and niche marketing with reference to the hospitality industry in Hong Kong and Macau. The five-day event enabled students to network and learn from senior management in the hospitality industry.
