LeFrench GourMay

A New Palate: Armagnac and Cheese ?

All Armagnac is brandy, but not all brandy is Armagnac. Armagnac is the oldest wine eau-de-vie (French brandy), produced in the south west region of France in Gascogny featured in LeFrench GourMay.

Armagnac is aged in oak barrels stored in wineries. Under the supervision of cellar master, Armagnac gains its amber golden color and flavor from inside the barrel. Armagnac has been around - it has just celebrated a 700-year anniversary. Traditionally Armagnac is served in a brandy glass as a digestive at the end of a meal. It's often paired with chocolate, fruit desserts, coffee and cigars.

In most restaurants, they pull out the cheese cart and the Armagnac cart that serves vintage-dated bottles. For gourmets and connoisseurs, the Armagnac tray is the full experience. The surprising diversity of Armagnac allows it to be matched with an infinite number of dishes.

The following Armagnac paired up with Cheese (Munster / Roquefort / Comte / Vacherin) can give a real ‘wow factor’ to your palate, with courtesy to Natural Food & Beverages:
