Jane has been Manager Asia Pacific since late 2001. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Asia Pacific regional office is an extension of the marketing, support services and recruitment arm of ICCA which is headquartered in the Netherlands. The office is also the Secretariat office for ICCA Asia Pacific Chapter which comprises all Asia Pacific members.

As Manager Asia Pacific, she oversees some 130 corporate members from the various meetings industry segments in this region, or almost 20% of ICCA’s global membership. In this area of growing interest in ICCA, Jane plans business-focused activities for members to help enhance the value of their ICCA membership, whilst assisting prospects to fully comprehend the requirements of ICCA before committing their organisations to membership.

Prior to this position, Jane worked for the national tourist board, mainly in the marketing communications field. She also served in the Board’s Sydney Office for four years with an emphasis on destination marketing promotions. Often wondering what it would be like on the other side of the fence, she left public sector employment after 13 years and embarked on a corporate communications and journalism career in the private sector covering the broadcast and publishing fields.

Since taking up her current position, Jane has been involved in various ICCA seminars and workshops in the Asia Pacific region. “ICCA Education is an important aspect of ICCA’s support for our members, and the industry as a whole. Our Asia Pacific Office is pleased to be able to play a role,” says Jane.
