3) How to we get to Macao from Hong Kong?

The ferry ride from Hong Kong and Kowloon takes just an hour. The jetfoils and jetcats (catamaran) offer a smoother ride compared to the turbocats and therefore would be the preferred choice for those who are prone to sea-sickness. Ferries run round the clock with departures every 15 minutes from 09:45 to 19:30, and every 30 minutes from 06:00 to 09:45 and 19:30 to 04:00. There is no service between 04:00 and 06:00.

You can obtain more detailed information on Turbojet services at http://www.turbojet.com.hk/index.htm and going to Service Routes for the departure times and fares. You may also try HK Ferries, another operator, that offers a 70-minute turbocat services from Kowloon only. Their booking line is (853) 726301.

4) How about transportation from ferry terminal to CAT?

The CAT is a short distance away from the ferry terminal. You may take a taxi from the stand which is to your right as you exit the terminal on the Arrivals level. The taxis are either 4 or 5-seaters and the fare will be Patacas/HK$10 per trip. You may want to print the Chinese name (see attachment for destination names in Chinese characters) to show to the driver.

5) What is the frequency of the Hotel shuttle service?

Guests staying at Hotel Lisboa and Hotel Sintra can take the complimentary hotel shuttle bus that run every 15 minutes between 08.45 and 22:00 from the ferry terminal daily. Alternately, a taxi ride is about 5 minutes and will cost Patacas/HK$10 per trip plus a minimal charge for luggage placed in the trunk.

6) How do we get around in Macao?

Macao is a small place and you will be able to get around on foot quite easily. Taxis are an inexpensive means of transportation and can be hailed right on the street. Public buses run regularly and fares range from Patacas/HK$ 2.5-6.0. Attached is a map that shows the forum hotels in relation to the ferry terminal.
