MS. ELLEN KWAN
GENERAL MANAGER – TOURISM MARKETING HONG KONG TOURISM BOARD
Ms
Kwan joined the Hong Kong Tourism Board in 1980 as Conference Executive and
was appointed the current position in 1995, following a six-month secondment
to the HKTB's Tokyo office, where she was Regional Director for Japan and
Korea.
The HKTB was established by Government Ordinance in 1957 to develop the tourism industry for the benefit of Hong Kong. It is headquartered in Hong Kong and has a worldwide network of 13 offices and 6 representatives.
In her present position, Ms Kwan is responsible to oversee the HKTB's worldwide marketing programme, specifically consumer and trade marketing functions. She is also responsible for the development of high yield business segments covering conventions, exhibitions, corporate events and cruise.
Ms Kwan played an active role representing the HKTB in regional alliances such as the Asian Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus, Pacific Asia Travel Association and other industry bodies both in Hong Kong and worldwide.
