Connecting to WLAN using Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) in Student Halls

*Please note that wireless signals are available at 1/F, 2/F and common area of each floor only.

1. The red crossed computer at lower right corner indicate network connection fail, run the 'Wireless Network Connection' as shown.
   
    
2. Click 'Change advanced setting' to proceed.
   
    
3. Click 'Wireless Networks' tab to setup wireless network.
   
    
4.  Click 'Add' to add PolyU wireless network.
   
    
5. -Select '1' in 'Key index',
   -Disable 'The key is provided for me automatically',
   -Disable 'This is a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network',
   -Type "PolyU" in Network name (SSID),  in which "P" and "U" must be in capital,
   -Select  'WEP' in Data encryption.
   -Select 'Open' in network authentication. 
   -Type "WSPAN" (All Capital) in both 'Network key' and 'Confirm network key'. Click 'OK' to proceed.
   
    
6. Click 'OK' to proceed.
   
    
7. Open the brower, now you can connect to the wireless network successfully. Input NetID and NetPassword to access the wireless network.
   
    
8. For the successful access, you can see the windows below. Keep this windows open, and your authentication will automatically be renewed within 450 seconds.
