These applicants will be evaluated on case by case basis.
3) Can I apply for hall residence for one semester only?
When a student apply for hall residence, they are applying for the whole residential year (usually one week before commencement of semester 1 and one week before end of semester 2). - Submit the application form and collect the debit note of Hall Caution Money ($500).

- The application result will be released in mid. August (exact date will be specified on the application form). Students who cannot get a hall place immediately will be put on the waiting list and have Hall Caution Money refunded later.
2) How are eligible students prioritized?
Non-local students have higher priority on hall application. Local freshmen will be prioritized by a Point Scoring Mechanism (PSM). For students who have outstanding performance on extra-curricular activities, they may be admitted by Warden Discretion. 3) If I am not assigned to the Hall of my choices, can I cancel my hall application?
Yes, but you need to inform the Hall Management Section by email (PolyU email account) before the date specified on the hall application form. Otherwise, the Hall Caution Money may not be refunded. Students can also apply to change to another hall in late Sep. after check-in. The result will depend on the decision of Hall Wardens concerned and availability of places.
4) If I do not apply this moment, will I have a second chance?
Ad-hoc application will be open if places are available, but you will then need to compete with other current students. Senior students without hall experience before will have priority.
