Warden of Yellow Hall

Dr. Jinsoo Lee, School of Hotel and Tourism Management

Welcome aboard Yellow Hall.

Congratulations on your admission to the Hong Kong Polytechnic Universityand welcome to the University Hall community. I believe that one of the many tough decisions you must makeis where you will live while pursuing study at the University. I confidently say that University housing is a wonderful choice you made.

Many students have never lived away from home or shared a room with others before starting Hall life and are likely anxious about what their Hall life will be like. Your residential experience provides you with a precious opportunity to learn about cultural diversity, extra-curricular activities, and communal responsibility.Your residential life begins with understanding new ground rules and the different perception of sharing and fairnessand learning to respect others' cultures, ideas, and priorities. The Yellow Hall is highly characterized by art, such as music, photography, movie, dancing, painting, etc. Sharing art acts as a powerful vehicle not only to establish the Hall unity among residents but also to further stimulate learning towards art, which is not available from the regular curriculum of your majors.

Adjusting to Hall life means a challenging transition you need to deal with. You are probably going through this transition with both excitement and apprehension. Yellow Hall residents, please rest assured that Hall tutors and I serve as a support network to help you through the transition. We will always walk shoulder to shoulder with you and will be there when you need our support. I would like to strongly encourage you to capitalize on Hall life for rewarding and meaningful residential experience.

Looking forward to working with you to make it that way.
