Ad-hoc Application for Student Halls of Residence in Homantin 2017-18


1) Admission Policy of Student Halls for Undergraduate Students

2) Application Period:

     Stage I :  27 December 2017 10:00am -  2 January 2018 11:59pm

     Stage II : 3 January 2018 10:00am  - 31 March 2018 11:59pm

3) Eligibility:

Full-time students in UGC-funded degree programmes, except those who are living in  any university-managed accommodation

4) Admission Priority

  1. Students who have submitted their hall applications last academic year and are still on the waiting list;
  2. Applicants submit their hall applications in Stage I (to be further prioritized according to the Admission Policy);
  3. Applicants submit their hall applications in Stage II (on first-come, first-served basis).

5) Hall Regulations:

Applicants should abide by the rules and procedures on hall admission and allocation of hall, room type and room as stated in General Information on Application for Undergraduate Halls. Students once admitted should comply with the Hall Regulations of respective hall, which may be revised by the University as it deems appropriate from time to time. Applicants should read the terms stated in the above-mentioned websites before submitting their hall applications.

9) Notes to Applicants: 

  1. This round of ad hoc application is only open to students who are interested in the Homantin Halls and will accept hall residency there.
  2. The residential period of Semester 2 in 2017-18 will end on 1 June 2018. The Commission on Poverty approved the allocation of funds from the Community Care Fund (CCF) for providing subsidy for needy students of degree programmes to meet student hostel expenses for 2 academic years from 2017/18 till 2018/19. Please visit the relevant webpage of Student Finance Office (SFO) of the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA) for details.
  3. The application result of Stage I will be released in early January 2018 and successful applicants will be assigned to check-in the Homantin Halls as soon as possible. 
  4. Unsuccessful applicants will be placed on the waiting list and will be notified when vacancies arise.
