Application for Hall Residence for Students Admitted via JUPAS(HKDSE)

1) Admission Policy of Student Halls for Undergraduate Students

2) Application Period: from 21 Aug. 2012 10:00 a.m. to 26 Aug. 2012 11:59 p.m.

3) Eligibility:

All full-time* students in UGC-funded degree programmes are eligible.

*full-time students are referring to students who take at least 9 credits in both semester 1 & 2.

4) Admission Procedures and Hall Regulations:

Applicants should abide by the rules and procedures on hall admission and allocation of hall, room type and room as stated in General Information on Application for Undergraduate Halls. Students once admitted to the Student Halls of Residence should comply with Hall Regulations, which may be revised by the University as it deems appropriate from time to time. Applicants should read the terms stated in the above-mentioned websites before submitting their hall applications.

Student Halls of Residence (Homantin): from 20 Sep. 2012 to 7 Jun. 2013 (inclusive)

Payment deadline of Hall Caution Money
31 Aug.
For applicants who have not settled the Hall Caution Money of $500 before deadline, their applications will be cancelled automatically without further notice. However, applicants should note that mere settlement of the Hall Caution Money is not equal to his/her application being successful. 

If the application is not successful, the Hall Caution Money will be refunded to the applicant bank account through Student Account Enquiry (SAE) within one month.

Result announcement
5 Sep.
The application result will be sent by email to the official PolyU email account of the applicant.

Deadline to cancel application
14 Sep.
Applicants wants to cancel their applications should inform us by email to sahall@polyu.edu.hk on or before this date. Otherwise, the Hall Caution Money settled will be forfeited as an administration charge.

Check-in date

29 Sep.

Check-in details will be sent to successful applicants by email in mid. Aug.

9) Notes to Applicants:

  1. To address the imbalance between male and female hall places, a cluster of 8 rooms on every female floors of co-ed UG halls in Hung Hom Halls will be set aside for male students. A typical floor plan shows the change here.
  2. Unsuccessful applicants will be placed on the waiting list and will be notified when vacancies arise.
