Eyes on PolyU

PolyU honoured to attain HKAEE Bronze Award in the Public Services Sector again

Head of Campus Sustainability Office, Mr. Joseph Chan, received the Brozen Award

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is bestowed with the Bronze Award in the “Public Services Sector” of the 2015 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE). Despite the extremely keen competition from government departments, public utilities, statutory organizations, tertiary education institutions, hospitals, and healthcare and community services, PolyU was awarded the Bronze Award in the “Public Services Sector” for second time,  chronicling two years’ of success.

PolyU has received significant recognition in achieving environmental excellence and sustainability. From policy-setting to daily operations, from architectural design to implementation, from research projects to academic programmes, PolyU embeds sustainability principles across all areas and actively promotes a green culture. We hope to motivate our students and staff and through them to influence the broader community.  It’s reaffirming when third parties also recognize our efforts.

Apart from taking pride in PolyU’s accomplishments, we urge every member of the PolyU community to consider embracing green living.  Travel and spend mindfully and choose more sustainable transportation methods and products. Treasure resources, reuse and recycle more both at home and at work. Be energy smart, use energy-efficient appliances, water-saving and energy conservation devices. Take a greener diet and bring more benefits to your health. You can start right away and change what you can as you can.

Together we can do a great deal to leave a planet that will benefit people and wildlife for centuries to come.
