There are currently 15 Dangerous Goods (DG) stores provided on campus. They are designed in particular for Category 2/ Category 3/ Category 4 and Category 5 DG. For information, there are some additional DG stores being built at the Phase 7 project which is under construction.

Under the current legislation, manufacturing, storage, transportation and use of DG are regulated by the Dangerous Goods Ordinance (Cap. 295) and its subsidiary Regulations. Generally, DG can be stored in individual laboratory or workshop for operational reason on condition that the exempted quantities of relevant DG are not exceeded. However, DG in excess of its exempted quantity must be stored in DG store. For further information about the DG Ordinance and its subsidiary regulations, user departments are advised to contact Health, Safety and Environmental Office (HSEO) at ext. 6414.
