Roof Access Arrangement

FMO has committed to assuring staff and students as well as contractors' health and safe, and has implemented a permit-to-work system for access to roof which is normally not allowed with the exception of maintenance personnel.

Chimney stacks are installed on some of the roofs to allow toxic fumes generated at laboratory fume cupboards to be discharged to the atmosphere above the level of normal access. To ensure health and safety of any persons accessing the roof, necessary precautionary measures have been implemented including locking of doors to the roofs and affixing of warning signs on these doors. 

Any staff members/ students/ contractor workers who wish to carry out research/ repairs and maintenance/ alternation and addition works on roof are required to contact our Campus Security Control Centre at 2766 7666 for necessary arrangements.
