Indoor Air Quality Mangement
FMO has committed to assuring the on campus indoor air quality (IAQ) because the IAQ is important to the health and well being of staff and students.
Since 1999, FMO, in collaboration with the Department of Building Services Engineering has formed a study group on IAQ. The objectives of the study group are :
- to collect information on the IAQ conditions based on continuous monitoring of IAQ parameters as per Environmental protection Department (EPD)'s Guidance Notes;
- to comment on the possible impacts on health and comfort due to the IAQ conditions;
- to identify obvious sources and reasons for unacceptable IAQ; and
- to make recommendation and then implement remedial action to further improve IAQ.
In 2008, classrooms and offices in all builings on campus, including Pau Yue-kong Library and Jockey Club Auditorium, were awarded the IAQ certificates (good class) by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD).
Should you require additional information on the maintenance of indoor air quality, please feel free to contact our FMO colleague at 2766 7235.
