Fire Safety

Fire Safety

The University is committed to providing a fire safe environment on campus to all campus occupants including staff, students, contractors, caterers and any other occupants on the campus. In this regard the University will, as far as reasonably practicable, take measures to reduce the likelihood of fire. At the same time, all occupants are requested to comply with relevant statutory requirements and observe fire precaution measures as suggested in the Health and Safety Guide.

FMO, among other duties, takes a leading role to look after fire protection matters including providing design inputs on fire service installations and equipment (FSI); arranging repairs and maintenance for FSI and responding to fire calls and alarms for all campus buildings. Besides, FMO will arrange periodic fire drills and carry out routine inspections to fire safety installation in common areas.

In order to better equip oneself on emergency preparedness, all staff and students are encouraged to visit "Emergency Procedures" posted on the office's website so as to know more information on proper reactions in case of fire.

Should you require additional information on fire safety, please feel free to contact our FMO colleague at 2766 7174.
