Launched by the Cambridge University Press as the newest addition to the series of “Studies in Natural Language Processing” (SNLP), this is the first published book on ontology and lexicon interface. Ontology and lexicon play a crucial role in the Semantic Web, especially in the new era of cross languages and cross knowledge processing development.
The book is edited by Professor Huang Chu-ren, Chair Professor of Applied Chinese Language Studies of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Subsequent to its publication, Professor Huang assumes the role as the Chief Editor of SNLP series at the Cambridge University Press. This role allows him to facilitate and strengthen the research direction in the academic arena of computational linguistics, semantic technology and knowledge engineering.

The current volume depicts the relationship between ontologies and lexicon in a multidisciplinary perspective and focuses on the integration of lexical resources and semantic technologies.
