The Fourth International Workshop on Theoretical East Asian Linguistics (TEAL-4)

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies is proud to organize the 4th International Workshop on Theoretical East Asian Linguistics (TEAL-4) on December 30, 2007. It was one of the core celebration activities and the finale for the Universityˇ¦s anniversary.

The TEAL Workshop was first launched in 1990 at the University of California, Irvine as a mid-size workshop intended to foster research on East Asian linguistics. It has been an important?forum for presenting new theories and exchanging novel ideas that bear on?East Asian languages with theoretical interests. Since 2002, the TEAL Workshop has been an international event. It was held at Doshisha University, Japan in 2002, at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan in 2004, and at Harvard University, USA in 2005. This year the TEAL Workshop was held in conjunction with the Sixth GLOW in Asia.
