More than 200 events were held throughout the year in celebration of PolyU’s 80th anniversary. The Open Day, Presidents’ Forum and Celebration Dinner in early December have brought the year-long celebration to a climax, and a fruitful conclusion.
Lecture series and international conferences
The University has organised a rich array of international conferences and lecture series throughout the year. The Presidents’ Forum held on 7 December 2017, attracted the participation of over 100 leaders of more than 30 higher education institutions from 20 countries and regions. Under the theme “Transformative Power of Universities for Our Future”, higher education leaders exchanged views on how universities could cope with the current and future global challenges.
Running throughout the year, the D.H. Chen Foundation Nobel Laureate Lecture Series and Global Leader Lecture Series saw 10 renowned academics and influential leaders from around the world speak at PolyU on a wide range of topics, covering health, global economics, business, innovation and entrepreneurship.
