As the nation unveiled its blueprint to link up Hong Kong, Macau and nine cities in southern China to form an integrated economic and business hub, PolyU has developed plans to advance the development of this Greater Bay Area, leveraging the University’s competitive advantages in innovation, entrepreneurial development and industrial network.

Recently, PolyU and Shenzhen University (SZU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to join hands in establishing The Greater Bay Area International Institute for Innovation. Riding on the strengths of both universities, the Institute will provide a platform for the incubation of high-tech entrepreneurs and the advancement of technology and innovation development with an aim to enhance the competitiveness of the Greater Bay Area.

PolyU and SZU will collaborate to organise entrepreneurship education programmes, and provide one-stop support services. In addition, both universities will open up resources for the mutual use of their students, alumni and collaborative partners. Capitalising on the opportunities rendered by the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park in the Lok Ma Chau Loop, the Institute will strive to bring in internationally renowned universities, global talents, post-doctoral researchers and investors to the Greater Bay Area.
