Prof. Xu You-Lin, Dean of Faculty of Construction and Environment, has recently been bestowed the International Association for Wind Engineering Senior Award (Davenport Medal). Being the first scholar in Hong Kong and the second in greater China to receive this award, Prof. Xu was recognised for his distinguished contribution in research, education and application in the fields of wind and bridge engineering.
Since joining PolyU in 1995, Prof. Xu has made important contribution to research in wind engineering, structural health monitoring, structural vibration control and smart structures, publishing more than 280 international journal papers and participated in over 80 national and international research projects.
