PolyU and Xi’an Jiao Tong University jointly organized the Silk Road International Summer School 2016. Some 130 elite students from PolyU and universities in Xi’an, Harbin and Beijing as well as those along the Silk Road enjoyed a two-week study and visit in Xi’an. Some student representatives also took part in exchange tours to Kazakhstan and Italy. This programme widened students’ multicultural horizon for better understanding among different ethnicities.
In addition, PolyU’s Summer Programme 2016 attracted some 800 Secondary Four and Five students from over 110 schools to explore PolyU and experience university life. Through activities including talks, laboratory tours, outdoor activities, hands-on experience and sharing sessions, participants learned about the wide range of undergraduate programmes and subjects offered by academic departments.
