PolyU’s campus-wide READ@PolyU common reading programme recently won a Special Award at the First National Case Study Competition on Promoting Reading in China Academic Libraries. Organized by Steering Committee for Academic Libraries – Reader Service Innovation and Promotion Working Group of the Ministry of Education of China, the competition saw the participation of over 450 academic libraries in the Chinese mainland.

The READ@PolyU programme was launched in 2011 with an objective to cultivate a reading culture on campus. Under this programme, all PolyU full-time first-year undergraduates get a free copy of an English fiction as a common book for reading. They can also participate in a series of activities, including discussion sessions to share experience with university members and fellow students about reading the book.
