Under the supervision of Prof. Li Pei at the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, PhD student Yao Yuan won the Nature Poster Award given by Nature Publishing Group at the International Polymer Colloid Conference 2015. The winning poster was titled “Novel nonconjugated photoluminescent polymer dots ”.
Yao Yuan demonstrated a simple and versatile method of producing nonconjugated photoluminescent polymer dots which can process excellent fluorescent properties in water. This novel fluorescent mechanism opens up new horizons for autofluorescence of polymeric materials.
