Congratulations to ‎a team of six mechanical engineering students on winning the First Prize and Special Enterprise Prize at the 9th Mitsubishi Electric Cup, a national electrical and automation competition for higher education students, with their project “A distributed waste recycling and processing system”.

Adopted automation technologies including PLC, servo motors and robotic arms, the system demonstrates how to reduce and reuse wastes. It comprises a plastic bottle collection and rewarding system, an online collection control and monitoring system as well as a recycled-product production line. The ultimate goal of the design is to increase public awareness on recycling daily wastes with the aid of the rewarding system.
