Jointly conducted by Dr Kwong Fuk-yee (second from right) and Dr So Chau-ming (first from right) at the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, a research titled “Development of new series of highly tunable phosphine ligands and explanation of problematic and challenging cross-coupling reactions” has recently won the Natural Science Award (Second Class) of the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Awards.

In addition, Natural Science Awards (Second Class) were given to two research projects jointly conducted by researchers from PolyU and other institutions in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. The winning projects were: “Evolution management and fault detection methods of quality-driven software” participated by Dr Hareton Leung Kam-nung (left) at the Department of Computing and “Study on Large Deviation Theory in stochastic process and statistical inference” participated by Dr Zhao Xingqiu (middle) at the Department of Applied Mathematics.
