Cooking innovatively with unwanted food, professional chefs and grassroots families teamed up to prepare a feast in search of solutions to tackle food waste.
Developed by PolyU design graduates to promote the culture of mutual help and interaction, a device with an attachable umbrella light with a mobile app recently won an international interactive design award.
From a design’s perspective, Mr Alvin Yip, Director of Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation, discussed how government, business sector, academia and the general public can join hands in solving social problems. He also analyzed the current movement of social innovation in Hong Kong.
Developed by a multi-disciplinary team of researchers using moisture management technology and nano materials, the new uniform facilitates sweat evaporation and makes outdoor working more comfortable in the hot summer.
