PolyU has recently been awarded with a Certificate of Merit (Public Organizations and Utilities Sector) in the 2013 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE), in recognition of its commitment to green management practices and contribution in environmental protection, such as energy conservation and waste reduction.

In addition, a joint project titled “An inline hydroelectric generating system in confined condition for urban water pipelines” developed by Water Supplies Department and PolyU’s Department of Building Services Engineering received a Certificate of Merit in the Green Innovations Award of the 2013 HKAEE.
