Prof. Niu Jian-lei, Professor and Associate Head of the Department of Building Services Engineering, was recently awarded fellowship by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers, in recognition of his distinguished attainment and substantial contributions in the field and the built environment.

According to the Society’s citation, Prof. Niu’s study revealed that windows flush with a flat façade in multiple story or high-rise buildings acted as a spread route for air-borne infectious diseases. His findings have practical implications for infection control intervention and ventilation design for future buildings. Details>>
