Second Hong Kong SME Business Sustainability Index

PolyU’s Department of Management and Marketing recently announced the Hong Kong SME Business Sustainability Index for the second year. With the support of Hong Kong Productivity Council and Hong Kong Council of Social Service, the new version of the Index was compiled by assessing the top 48 SMEs with proven records of excellent performance in undertaking Corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in 2012-2013. In particular, they were assessed in the following areas: the value of CSR and sustainable development, management and CSR projects, and positive contribution to economic, social and environmental sustainability.

The mean score of the Index was 62 on a 100-point scale, as compared to 58 last year, indicating that local SMEs have entered the second stage of performance from the initial stage of business sustainability. Details>>
