PolyU academics elected HKAES Fellows Artist duo wins top prize in contemporary art PolyU student comes first in engineering paper contest

Laurent Gutierrez, Associate Professor, and Valérie Portefaix, Visiting Assistant Professor of PolyU’s School of Design recently won Asia’s biggest prize for contemporary art - Sovereign Asian Art Prize. Titled “Back Home with Baudelaire No. 5”, their winning entry is the product of a journey they took aboard a French container ship called “Baudelaire”, going from Yantian port in Shenzhen to Hong Kong. The entry is a collection of 10 panoramic images and a 16-minute film.
