i/ Valuable support from first alumnus Dr Ng Wing Hong

PolyU has received a donation of $750,000 from Dr Ng Wing-hong (second from left), 1939 alumnus of the Government Trade School that was PolyU’s original forerunner.  He has given tremendous support to his alma mater over the years. The amount has been accumulated through his support to the monthly donation scheme. The University has specially dedicated a plaque on the PolyU 75th anniversary brick wall to recognize his contribution and ardent support for various university activities.

ii/ Naming of Bright Future Classroom

PolyU organized the naming ceremony of Bright Future Classroom on 11 October to pay tribute to PolyU Court Chairman and Founder of Bright Future Charitable Foundation Prof. Roy Chung (third from left), who has donated HK$1 million in support of PolyU’s long-term development.

The naming of the classroom embodies Prof. Chung’s kind wish for students, hoping that they will have a bright future ahead.

iii/ Shun Hing supports campus-wide reading programme

PolyU has received a generous donation of HK$2 million from Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund for the READ@PolyU programme in 2013, a pioneer of its kind in Hong Kong’s higher education sector.

Mr Daivd Mong (right), Chairman of the Fund, hoped the donation could facilitate the implementation of the new four-year undergraduate curriculum, encouraging students to appreciate the pleasure of reading and receive all-round education. Details>>
