Computing students triumph at IT competition

On 26 June, computing students Choi Hin-kwong and Cheng Shek-fung won the Gold and Bronze Awards in the 2011 Amway Pan-Pearl River Delta Region Universities IT Project Grand Competition organized by the Internet Professional Association. With their respective innovation, “Intelligent and interactive signage systems using digital signage and mobile phone” and “Innovative Financial Investment Tools (iFIT) for Stocks and Funds”, they beat over more than 130 teams from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

It is the third year in a row that students from the Department of Computing have won Gold Awards in this competition. This year, both students are under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr Henry Chan.
