PolyU launches community service learning programme in Sham Shui Po

PolyU kicked off the debut of "Community Service Learning Programme (CSLP) in Sham Shui Po" in a special ceremony held on the university campus on 22 January. Officiating at the ceremony were Prof. Timothy W. Tong, PolyU President, and Mr Cheung Hing-wah, Deputy Director of Social Welfare (Services).

The programme is organized with the combined efforts of PolyU, Sham Shui Po District Social Welfare Office, non-government organizations (NGOs) and schools in the district. Over 700 PolyU student volunteers and staff members are being involved in some 30 service projects in 2010/11.

On the same day, some 400 secondary school students from Sham Shui Po and Tin Shui Wai districts had a taste of university life by participating in a series of activities organized by the Student Affairs Office and various academic departments. Details>>
