PolyU sports stars shine in Guangzhou Asian Games

Blind but tough – Jess got a master degree in translation

Computing talents garner awards in competitions

 

Seventeen athletes from PolyU competed in 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and five of them have contributed to Hong Kong’s best-ever results at the Games. They have altogether won two silver and three bronze medals in the Games.

Miss Au Wing-chi, a student of the Department of Management and Marketing, won two Silver Medals in the Women's Squash Individual and Team events. Her brother Mr Au Chun-ming, also of the same Department, took a Bronze Medal for the Men’s Team in Squash.

In Fencing, Miss Au Yeung Wai-sum, a student in MSc in E-Commerce, won a Bronze Medal in Women’s Team Sabre together with her teammates. Miss Cheung Ho-king, a student in Higher Diploma in International Transport Logistics, and Miss Lin Po-heung, a student in BSc in Property Management, won a Bronze Medal in Women’s Team Foil together with two other team members of the SAR squad.
