PolyU thanks donors for their support to students

PolyU held a reception in its student hostels on 22 April to thank those benefactors who have rendered their generous support to PolyU students in the 2009/10 academic year.

During the period, the University received support from more than 300 private firms, charitable organizations, professional bodies and individuals in the forms of scholarships, financial assistance and subsidies for student activities. All these donations amount to over $22 million, benefiting about 4,000 students.

While extending his heartfelt gratitude to the donors, PolyU President Prof. Timothy W. Tong said that the University did not just take the face value of the contributions, but considered them an endorsement to the efforts the University has made and as an assurance that the University is on the right track, and this will guide PolyU to move forward and excel further.
