Close connections with alumni

PolyU strives to keep a close tie with its alumni, no matter they are elder or young, or living in Hong Kong, on the Chinese mainland or overseas.

Recently, the Department of Building and Real Estate invited one of its first graduates, Mr Ng Wing-hong, to be a “Professor for a Day” to share his valuable experiences in life and in work with current students. A 1939 graduate of PolyU's oldest predecessor, the Government Trade School, Mr Ng has been giving unwavering support to his alma mater over the past 70 years. Staff members and students also took the special occasion of the talk to celebrate Mr Ng’s 94th birthday. Congratulations and best wishes to Mr Ng!

In mid April, PolyU President Prof. Timothy W. Tong visited Xi’an for the first time and attended the dinner gathering co-organized by PolyU and Xi’an Jiaotong University. He also took the opportunity to introduce PolyU’s latest achievements and future development to over 300 graduates, students and guests.
