On 25 March, President Professor Timothy Tong joined leaders of world-renowned universities, including New York University, University of Bristol and The University of Warwick, to speak in “Going Global 4”, an annual education conference organized by the British Council.

Professor Tong joined one of the major plenaries titled "What makes a truly global university?" with a focus on the reasoning and ethical underpinnings for universities to go global and the benefits it brings to students and faculty. Speakers also exchanged views on different approaches of internationalization and the challenges in establishing collaboration between universities.

Over 1,200 delegates from 75 countries attended the conference in London this year. More information on the Conference is available at: www.britishcouncil.org/goingglobal.htm

In addition to attending the Conference, Professor Tong and senior executives of PolyU also visited several higher education institutes including the University of Cambridge, University College London, City University London, University of the Arts London and the Royal College of Art.
