Development of State Key Laboratory
PolyU obtained Central Government's approval in 2005 for developing a State Key Laboratory for Chinese Medicine and Molecular Pharmacology at the University's Shenzhen-based Institute of Modern Chinese Medicine. This is the first State Key Laboratory with a focus on Chinese medicine being established on the mainland by a Hong Kong academic institution.

2005年，理大獲國家科學技術部正式批准，在本校設於深圳的現代中藥研究所，建立全國首個從事中藥開發、也是首個由香港院校設於內地的的國家重點實驗室培育基地，專門研究中藥藥劑與藥理學。
