Message from the Warden

Welcome to Chengde Hall! Chengde has been making use of its change from a boy's hall to co-ed hall to consolidate our achievements and establish a new identity. Through design competition among hall-mates, we have created a new hall logo to reflect our exact spirit.

Student hall experience provides the major supplement to the university's effort in producing highly competent all-round graduates. The goal and spirit of Chengde Hall is "Achieving virtuous integrity" through self-awareness. I envisage a student hall that promote and reinforce the values established over the years: integrity vision and compassion. In addition, I would expect the quality features to include cultural competence.

Student hall is much more than just a place to sleep. With the conductive environment in student hall, it provides cognitive and experiential learning opportunities for students to share life experience, to embrace differences among people and to become aware of their responsibilities in their community/environment, and to acknowledge the interdependence of peoples of different background and cultures.

I strongly believe that without the good quality experience of student hall life, university education would be incomplete, and the experience includes your pride in contributing to establish and maintain the hallmark quality of your Hall.

Living in student hall is an experience to be treasured. Residing and sharing with friends in Chengde is not only a coincident but also an unique opportunity for you to contribute to hall live.
