I regret what I haven’t done.

Blog Category : Study 20 Days after the Examinations

Today is the day when the results are published and I ended up with a GPA of 2.2. It’s rather weak and I am now asking myself why I didn’t work hard before.

Then I met some friends on campus, they have much higher GPA’s, one even has 3.9! Wow, it’s humiliating, I feel rather embarrassed. Then I asked her how she can get such a high GPA. She said the most effective way to study is to carefully go through all her previous assignments and read the teacher’s feedback. This was really useful because it identified her weaknesses when studying and enabled her to clearly recognise the concepts of the subject. This helped her focus on the key points to study. Also, she said that she paid a lot of attention during the class. This made her revision easier because she understood the basic theory and so it was easier to remember. After talking to my friend, I’ve learned that I can actually understand the key points better and do better in the examinations if I pay a little more attention to class and read the teacher’s feedback no matter if the assignments count to the final grade or not. What my friend mentioned is called Formative Feedback, something I should have looked at.

Will I be able to graduate?

Blog Category : Study 5 Days into the Examinations

Another examination tomorrow and I haven’t been through all the notes even once. I don’t even have all of them and what I do have is in a mess. I really don’t know what to do, I asked my friend if I could borrow hers but she needs them herself. There seems to be so much to learn, I just cannot remember it all in time.

Yesterday, my Father told me that my GPA has to be over 3.0 otherwise I will have to pay him back all the money he has loaned me for tuition. It’s impossible, my GPA is never been higher than 2.5. How can I do that? I’m also worrying about whether I’ll graduate at all, it’s needless to talk about a GPA of 3.0 or more!

My GPA must really have gone down

Blog Category : Study 1st Day after the Examinations

My GPA will definitely drop because yesterday’s examination was really hard. In fact I had real problems, and could not really answer the questions, just bits and pieces of each, and left the examination early. It’s terrible!

I spoke to three classmates flat after the examination and we exchanged answers. They all got similar answers but mine was completely different and I now know what I did wrong, I feel awful, I wish I have never asked them how they got on!

It’s real bad!! I am now really worried about my results. There is no way I have done enough to pass and I realise how much time I have wasted.

I hope I can pass!

Blog Category : Study 3 Days before the Examinations

I usually finish my work at the last minute, so I plan to start studying just a few days before the examination. Then when I called my friend, she said she’s been studying with other classmates for about three weeks. Wow, maybe they know something that I do not!

I feel bad when I know that my classmates are working this hard, it makes me feel as though I am missing something. Fortunately, my friend has urged me to start studying now, or else I’ll be totally lost when it came to examination time.

In this examination, I will answer the questions that I know best first, I should be able to estimate the percentage of marks I can get at the end. Actually, I’ll be glad if I just pass, compared to my classmates, I’ve been rather lazy, and am starting to regret it.

No mood to study.

Blog Category : Study 7 Days before the Examinations

The examinations are less than a week away, but I still have no real mood to study. What should I do? When I start to read my notes and work on past examination papers, I get completely turned off. I really don’t know what to do, I just can’t be bothered.

In fact, every time I start working on the past examination papers, I tell myself, “Hey, stop slacking, get to work, you must not let your GPA drop.” But then after a while, I basically give up the whole thing.

I know I get distracted easily. I only do the assignments just to pass. I just do the minimum to get through, in fact sometimes I wonder why I am here. I do not enjoy what I am studying, I find it really very boring and tedious.
