Review Policy

Review Panel and Assessment of Conference Paper Submissions

All papers will be peer-reviewed by at least two independent reviewers of the Conference’s international review panel consisting of experts in fields specifically matching the conference themes. Reviewers are required to provide the author with constructive comments with the intention of improving the quality of the paper.

Reviewers will evaluate the abstracts based on the following criteria:

Criteria for Selection

  1. Value: There are significant implications for assessment practices, particularly with regard to the Conference title “Enhancing Teaching and Learning through Assessment”. It advances assessment practices and informs how teaching and learning can be improved.
  2. Creativity: Introduction of innovative practices in the field of assessment research and practice.
  3. Relevance: Has a direct relevance to the theme(s) of the Conference
  4. Interest: Compiled in a style that is interesting for both researchers and/or front-line teachers.
  5. Clarity: Clearly identifies in a concise manner what the work is about, what has been done, and what has been concluded.

Reviewers will provide a final judgment and indicate if they will recommend to the Conference Organising Committee if the abstract submission is to be accepted for presentation at the Conference.

After the Conference, presenters are required to submit the full papers to the Conference Organising Committee before 15th August, 2005 in order to be considered for inclusion in the Conference Publication. Papers with high degree of originality and evidence of significant impact on and applications in assessment are to be selected. Please see paper submissions page for submission procedures.

All full papers selected will be edited and published in the Conference Publication.
