Administered by the Conference Organising Committee based at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, over 170 scholarly papers from academics and teaching professionals were presented at this First International Conference in June 2005. These were in the form of paper presentations, roundtable discussions, and poster displays. We hope this gathering of people, ideas, and experience would help to advance the use of assessment in educational settings.
