SIAM student chapter at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University is honored to announce the great success of the student event held on 20th of November 2021, joined by students from CUHK and CityU. We hope that the activity can be a good beginning for recovering the face-to-face inter-university seminar.

The activity was divided into two parts:
In the first part, students attended the distinguished lecture given by Prof. He Xuhua and attended the award presentation ceremony of the Hong Kong Mathematician Society.

In the second part, a free discussion salon was held. Each of the participant chapters selected several students’ contributions displayed by posters. Students can browse the posters and discuss them with the authors. Other students are also welcome to introduce their research interests.

We hope that this modus can let students feel free to get more opportunities to discuss with others, find some new friends with the same research interest and get inspiration during the discussion, and have a positive effect on their further research.
Later, we are looking forward to co-organizing more seminars or workshops and inviting more students to join us.
