The awards were presented by the Guest of Honour Mr John Tsang Chun-wah, Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology of the HKSAR Government. The award presentation ceremony and dinner, held at Hotel Inter-Continental Hong Kong, was hosted by Mr Victor Lo, Chairman of PolyU Council; Prof. Poon Chung-kwong, PolyU President; and Dr Ng Tat-lun, President of the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations (FHKPUAA) and Managing Director of Energizer Co. Inc.

The gala event was joined by close to 600 guests, comprising senior officials, the University’s Court and Council members, friends and supporters from industries, alumni and staff members.

First launched in 1996/1997, the biennial “Outstanding PolyU Alumni Award” Selection was jointly organized by PolyU and FHKPUAA for the fifth time this year.
