(Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering,
Hong Kong Technical College, 1967)
Ir Lai is currently Director of Electrical & Mechanical Services,
Government of the HKSAR. Ir Lai¡¦s contribution in the field includes
the legislative enforcement of electrical safety, gas safety, as
well as the promotion of efficient energy in Hong Kong. Ir Lai¡¦s
earlier work in biomedical engineering has provided not only
substantial support to public hospitals, but also solid foundation
for the subsequent development of biomedical engineering in the
territory. He is an active member of the Hong Kong Institution of
Engineers. Over the years, he has rendered such public services as
serving as the General Manager of the Electrical and Mechanical
Services Trading Fund.

Diploma in Accountancy, Hong Kong Polytechnic, 1975)
Currently a Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr Lam is noted
for his professional accomplishments in the accountancy field.
In 1983, Mr Lam became the youngest Fellow of The Association of
Chartered Certified Accountants at the age of 28. In addition to
his achievements in the accounting profession, Mr Lam has lent
great support to the advancement of the medical industry and the
tertiary education sector. In recognition of his strong support
to PolyU, Mr Lam was conferred a Honorary Fellow of the
University in 2002.

(Higher Diploma in Structural Engineering, Hong Kong Technical
College, 1966)
A prominent and experienced engineer, Ir Lo has contributed
significantly to the public works and infrastructure development
in Hong Kong. He is currently Permanent Secretary for the
Environment, Transport & Works (Works) of the Government and has
rendered his service in the field for over 30 years. In 1990, Ir
Lo, as a chief engineer, led a team of engineers to urgently
implement the West Kowloon Reclamation Project on time. In 1999,
he helped to instigate the commencement of the Disney Theme Park
Project. Outside work, Ir Lo is active in public services. He is
Chairman of PolyU¡¦s Advisory Committee of the Department of
Civil and Structural Engineering; Fellow of the Institution of
Structural Engineers, Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and a
Member of the China Civil Engineering Society.

Certificate in Production Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic,
1976)
Mr Ng, Founder and Chairman of SAE Magnetics (HK) Limited,
successfully transformed SAE from a manufacturer of recording
heads for floppy disk to now the world¡¦s largest independent
manufacturer of magnetic recording heads for hard disk drives.
Taking up about 30 per cent of world market share, SAE reports
revenue of more than USD 1 billion. In 1986, under the
leadership of Mr Ng, SAE merged with the TDK Corporation in
Japan, marking history in the industry. Currently Mr Ng is the
founder and Chairman of the Hong Kong Critical Components
Manufacturers Association, Chairman of the Science and
Technology Committee of the Asia Pacific Academy for
Productivity and Innovation. |

Ir Tse is
Managing Director of Parsons Brinckerhoff Asia Limited ¡V a
leading building services engineering consultant in Hong Kong.
Having served the industry for 27 years, Ir Tse¡¦s profound
experience has been well proven by his many major projects
including the HKD12 billion worth Macau Venetian
Resort-Hotel-Casino, Singapore Suntec City and International
Convention Centre and the Olympic City development project in
Hong Kong. Ir Tse is now Chairman of the Advisory Committee of
the Building Services Engineering Department of PolyU. His
illustrious career and contributions to the building profession
have won him many honours. |

Dyeing, Printing and Finishing Technology, Hong Kong Technical
College, 1968)
An esteemed scholar in textile and clothing, Prof. Yeung is now
Vice President (Academic Development), PolyU; Fellow of the
Textile Institute, the UK; Chartered Textile Technologist;
Honorary Fellow of Textile Association, India; and Chair
Professor of Textiles and Clothing, PolyU. He is also the
Founding Chairman of The Society of Textile Scientists and
Engineers, Asia. During his service at PolyU, Prof. Yeung has
steered the development of the University¡¦s inter-disciplinary
studies, double degree programmes and innovative modes of study,
such as those used at Hong Kong¡¦s first ¡§virtual¡¨ university,
the HKCyberU. In 2000, he spearheaded the formation of the
Consortium of Continuing Education Institution to further
promote lifelong learning.

Polytechnic, 1987)
Mr Yip, Founder and Director of Yip Design Ltd, is an
international product designer. Over the years, Mr Yip has
designed more than a thousand products and received more than 20
international design registrations and patents. One of his most
famous works is the FlexiCal design which enables a calculator
to be rolled up. This innovative design has brought him many
local and overseas acclaims and is now on permanent display in
the British Design Museum in London. Mr Yip was an honoree of
the Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Young Persons 2004 and is now
Honorary Advisor of the Hong Kong Designers Association and
Visiting Lecturer of the School of Design of PolyU.¡@ |
