Entry Criteria

All team members must be upper form secondary school students or undergraduates for their respective division at the time of the Semi-Final and Final rounds of the Challenge.
Mentors are required to act as key liaisons between PolyU and the respective teams upon registration and act as guardians for the team-members during the whole period at the time of the Semi-Final and Final rounds of the Challenge in Hong Kong.
It is compulsory for all teams in the secondary school division to have a mentor (non-sponsored) accompanying the respective team. Team(s) who fail to do so will be considered withdrawn from the Challenge.
Business plan must be in English and submitted via team login page by 1 December 2012 for entering the 2013 Challenge. Each business plan should be no more than 20 pages (secondary school division) / 25 pages (university division), including table of content, main content and appendixes. Pages outside the allowed limits will not gain extra credits and might not be assessed. Teams must identify themselves using team names instead of institution names in the business plans and plans which do not complied will not be sent to judges for assessment.

Composition of teams:

In the Secondary School Division, each team must comprise of:
three student members who must be full time secondary school students at the time of the Final Competition in June 2013. One of whom will need to bear the responsibility of the team leader, and
one mentor (non-sponsored) who must be a full time employee from the school that the team represents.

In the University Division, each team must comprise of:
three student members who must be full time undergraduates pursing their first degree offered by bona fide higher education institutions at the time of the Final Competition in June 2013
an option of including the 4th student member (non-sponsored) who satisfied the same criteria mentioned in above.

Roles and responsibilities of team leader:

It is compulsory for each team to assign a sponsored student member as the team leader. The team leader is responsible for ensuring his/her team members submit all necessary information as requested by PolyU on or before the deadline. Any documents, such as the “Certificate of Participation” that would be sent from PolyU to the team by post, will be sent to the team leader for dissemination to his/her team members. S/he will be the key liaison between the team and PolyU throughout the course of the Challenge.

Roles and responsibilities of team mentor:

Mentor of the Secondary School Division will act as the guardian of all the student members during the event period in June 2013 (exact date to be announced shortly). S/he will act as the key liaison between PolyU and the student members during the competition from the time that the team arrives, to until the team departs from Hong Kong. Ideally, the mentor could also act as the coach for the team, both in the preparation stage of the proposal as well as in the Final rounds should the team be shortlisted.
