Introduction
Biomedical Engineering (BE), or Bioengineering, is an interdisciplinary
field that integrates engineering and life sciences to enable engineering
innovations for biomedical applications. The field is underpinned by
different disciplines of engineering, covering biomaterials, biomechanics,
biotransport, biosensors, bioelectronics & instrumentation, biomedical
signals & imaging, biocomputation & informatics, etc. for the
purposes of health promotion & protection, health assessment &
medical diagnosis, acute medical & surgical interventions, and rehabilitation.
Objective
To establish a deep collaboration between The Chinese University of
Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Biomedical Engineering
by way of a timely and synergistic expansion of faculty and facilities,
capitalizing on the strengths of the two Universities, and covering
a broad front of Undergraduate and Postgraduate education in Biomedical
Engineering. |
